About curriculum

“Medical physics is a field that brings knowledge and processes in physics and computation to apply in diagnosing and treating patients with radiation. Hospital medical physicists work closely with a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, medical physicists, and medical radiologists.”

Master of Science Programme Medical Physics, Princess Srisavangavadhana College of Medicine, Chulabhorn Royal Academy is a new Programme starting in the academic year 2019, developing a curriculum to support the production of a master’s degree in Medical Physics, which is a shortage branch of the country.

Roles and duties of medical physicists

–Calculate the amount of radiation used in radiation therapy for cancer patients.

–Determine the appropriate radiation dose level and quality control of the radiograph.

– Examine and control the quality of radiation generators and techniques used in diagnosing and treating patients

– Develop a patient treatment plan with a doctor specializing in radiotherapy and nuclear medicine.

– Manage radiation safety

–Research and develop innovations to enhance the work in radiation medicine by applying knowledge of radiation physics to other fields of knowledge and technology, such as statistics, computers, and computing. Artificial intelligence, etc.

ผลิตบุคลากรด้านฟิสิกส์การแพทย์

– ที่มีความรู้และทักษะในการปฏิบัติที่ก้าวทันต่อวิทยาการด้านฟิสิกส์การแพทย์ และวิทยาการด้านอื่น ๆ แบบคู่ขนาน

– สามารถทำการศึกษาวิจัยและสร้างสรรค์นวัตกรรมในสาขาวิชาฟิสิกส์การแพทย์ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับนานาชาติ

– ส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ผ่านกระบวนการสืบเสาะหาความรู้ (Inquiry Approach) ประกอบด้วย ความรู้พื้นฐาน การตั้งคำถาม การประยุกต์ใช้ความรู้ในการออกแบบแผนการปฏิบัติ การปฏิบัติ และการประเมินผล

– ผลักดันการเรียนรู้ผ่านกระบวนการวิเคราะห์เชิงคุณภาพและปริมาณ

– ส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ผ่านการปฏิบัติการเชิงคลินิก และการพัฒนานวัตกรรม

Qualifications of the students

- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physics, Mathematics, Radiological Technology, and Biomedical Engineering. Computer engineering, Electrical, and Electronic Engineering, or other related branches.
- Undergraduate GPA of at a minimum 2.5.
- Have English language proficiency scores as specified by the curriculum.
