History of Srisavangavadtana College of Medicine Chulabhorn Royal Academy
Srisawangkhawatana College of Medicine Established by His Majesty’s determination in Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Prince Chulabhorn Walailak empress Krom Phra Srisavangavadtana Worakhattiyarajanaree on May 18, 2015, when the royal name was first established as “School of Medicine and Public Health”, which was the first academic office to be established under Chulabhorn Hospital. Chulabhorn Foundation with the hope that the School of Medicine and Public Health to manage teaching and producing doctors, nurses, and personnel in health sciences and public health in shortage fields. Including providing post-graduate studies to produce researchers and experts in various fields to jointly develop the country’s medicine and health sciences.
ต่อมาทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้มีการจัดโครงสร้างขององค์กรใหม่ตามโครงสร้างของราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ โดยสำนักวิชาแพทยศาสตร์และการสาธารณสุขได้รับการปรับเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น “คณะแพทยศาสตร์และการสาธารณสุข” และย้ายสังกัดจากโรงพยาบาลจุฬาภรณ์ มูลนิธิจุฬาภรณ์ มาอยู่ในสังกัดของวิทยาลัยวิทยาศาสตร์การแพทย์เจ้าฟ้าจุฬาภรณ์ ซึ่งเป็นส่วนงานภายใต้ราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ คณะฯ ได้มีการพัฒนาเติบโตขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง มีการเปิดหลักสูตรที่ทันสมัยทั้งระดับปริญญาตรี โท และเอก มีผลงานด้านวิจัยวิชาการและนวัตกรรมที่ได้รับรางวัลระดับชาติและนานาชาติ มีโครงการอาสาจุฬาภรณ์ซึ่งทรงพระราชทานพระอนุญาตให้ใช้พระนาม เพื่อช่วยเหลือและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตประชาชน รวมทั้งมีผลงานด้านอื่นๆ อย่างเป็นที่ประจักษ์ จึงได้รับพระมหากรุณาธิคุณโปรดเกล้าฯ พระราชทานนามใหม่เป็น “วิทยาลัยแพทยศาสตร์ศรีสวางควัฒน – Princess Srisavangavadhana College of Medicine” โดยสภาราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ได้มีมติให้การรับรองชื่อใหม่ในวันที่ 8 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2564 เพื่อเป็นการเฉลิม พระเกียรติองค์ประธานราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์เนื่องในโอกาสมหามงคลทรงเจริญพระชนมายุ 64 พรรษา ในปี พ.ศ. 2564
Sriswangkhawatana College of Medicine is the 23rd medical school in Thailand to be accredited according to the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) international standards by the Institute for Medical Education Standards (OBEC) and the Medical Council of Thailand. Srisavangkhawatana offers three courses: 1) Doctor of Medicine, a 7-year, 2-degree program (iBSc/MD) in partnership with University College London (UCL), United Kingdom. Which is a top 10 university in the world 2) Bachelor of Science program Health Data Science together with the Faculty of Engineering (Computer Major) King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) is Thailand’s first joint degree program that combines cross-disciplinary and inter-university sciences and 3) Master of Science program. Medical Physics In order to produce medical physicists who are extremely scarce in Thailand, Sriswangkhawatana College of Medicine has prepared to open 5 new courses, namely 1) Master of Science Program. Department of Dermatology 2) Doctor of Philosophy Program Department of Medical Physics and Medical Engineering (International Program) 3) Bachelor of Science Program Medical Innovation in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Newcastle, Commonwealth of Australia (Dual Degree BSc/BEng) (International Program) 4) Master of Science Program in digital health program and 5) Master of Science program. Medical Sciences When the course was approved by the Chulabhorn Royal College Faculty of Medicine and Public Health (Name at that time) also co-produced medical graduates with the Faculty of Medicine. Ramathibodi Hospital, 5 generations (2017-2022) in the project in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej Maharaj Borommanatbophit and opened the first generation of radiation technical students which was later transferred to the Faculty of Health Sciences Technology in the academic year 2018.
